FAQ's
Q: What makes Thrive Fitness & Wellness different?
A: With Thrive you will be working with not only a certified, highly seasoned personal trainer but a professional, educated in multiple fitness and wellness modalities. These include yoga, mat Pilates, Nutrition Counseling, Bodywork (Eastern and Western), as well as professional cooking.
Thrives approach is integrated and holistic in nature. I employ
simple effective techniques in the areas of meditation, stress
management and life coaching to facilitate emotional wellness
and compliment your strength training and physical well being.
Q: What does a typical session entail?
A: All sessions begin with a short warm up of cardiovascular exercise to warm the muscles and prepare the heart for the work ahead.
Your workout is designed based upon your health history, your
goals, any current limitations and your time available to exercise.
My focus is to empower and educate you on all the essential
components of good health: flexibility, stamina, endurance,
strength and weight reduction and of course, take you through
well developed training sessions.
Q: Where will I workout?
A: Anywhere at all can be used as a workout space, including the furniture or terrain around you. A living room, garage, backyard, community park or even your office can be transformed into a creative fitness environment. A set of steps, a park bench, a strong chair, the grass or floor beneath your feet can all be used to burn calories, lose weight and get in amazing shape.
Q: What kinds of equipment will I need?
A: You can get a great workout with no equipment at all, using only your body weight. Depending on your goals, the size of your workout space and your budget, you can invest as much or as little as you want.
Inexpensive and easy to store items such as a stability ball, an 8-12 lb. medicine ball, a yoga mat and dumb bells of varying weights can be purchased. As your strength and fitness level progresses, so too can your fitness equipment.
*I will provide exercise resistance bands and the necessary attachments.
Q: How long will it take to see results?
A:Generally most individuals start to see changes physically and mentally with the first few weeks but most changes take between 4-6 weeks. Quicker results occur with consistency of healthy eating patterns and commitment to your cardiovascular and strength training routines.
Q: How long is each session?
A: Sessions are either 30 or 60 minutes in length.
My training incorporates integrated muscle group movements
allowing me to accomplish a maximum amount of fitness in the
shortest amount of time. I of course will progress clients
based on their current level of conditioning. Those very new
to exercise will begin slowly and gently and more advanced
clients will progress more aggressively.
